Uncover Your Past
A plane recently flew over northwest Caithness and recorded every inch of her landscape. This ground-breaking survey recorded over 500 ancient monuments: standing stones, burial tombs, forts, brochs, hut circles, carved stones and farmsteads. Now you can explore the results.
Fly across the landscape. See how many sites you can discover. Then take the journey again. Uncover your past.
This dataset is a 0.5m resolution elevation model derived from the ‘first return’ or first surface from which the surveying laser is reflected. This means that bushes, buildings (even sheep!) are visible in the data.
